Joe was born and raised in Washington State. He received his B.S in Turfgrass Management at Washington State University in 2006. He worked 3 years in Portland, OR at Columbia Edgewater Country Club; 2 years in Columbus, OH at The Ohio State University Golf Club; and 4 years in Bethesda, MD at Burning Tree Club. He started as Superintendent at Bretton Woods in the spring of 2014 and has enjoyed every minute of it.
Joe was married in 2011 and his wife was a high school chemistry teacher in Silver Spring, MD, who now stays at home to raise their children: Caroline, 7, and William, 3. They live on a small piece of land in Frederick, MD where the kids keep him busy running around the yard. The family enjoys hiking, camping, and painting. The kids also enjoy visiting the golf course and riding around in the cart.
